It’s been nearly a year to the date since I last posted a video to YouTube.
I decided at the end of 2024 that I wanted to try and get my art ‘out there’ in the physical world and make real connections with people, put my work into exhibitions and become more involved with my local art club.
In a number of ways – my plan worked really well. I met some talented local artists, took part in exhibitions and had a great experience holding my first ever Open Studios!
Buuuuuuuuuuut…it’s not for me.
Earlier this year I was diagnosed with PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) which is a severe hormone-related mood disorder where symptoms like intense irritability, anxiety, depression, and fatigue occur in the two weeks before a period. It looks something like this:

When you’re not feeling yourself two weeks out of every month it can be really difficult to get into any sort of routine. Instead of getting out there and making art for exhibitions I struggled with the reality of commiting to deadlines and showing up for events.
But this isn’t a sad story 🙂
I know what I’m dealing with now and there are pockets of energy that I find throughout the month where I can be creative and connect with people by sharing my work through social media. That’s why I’ve decided to start creating YouTube videos again. I’ve missed the online community I had started to build and it means I can be creative and share my work at times that suit me – without any external pressure.
I’m actually feeling more inspired than I have in months and I’m looking forward to sharing some recent work with you and exploring new ideas.
TL;DR – New YouTube videos on the way – yay!
